Doc. L-003 · LegalDRAFT — NOT YET REVIEWED BY AN AUSTRALIAN LAWYER
Cookie Policy
WHAT CHANGED IN THIS VERSION
- First published version for Australia (v1.0). If we ever start setting another cookie, it will be listed here before it ships.
EVERY CLAUSE HAS A PLAIN-ENGLISH NOTE — HOVER OR FOCUS TO READ IT →
1 What we set
1.1Our own pages set one cookie, cb_pass. It is set on your order page after you have paid, holds the order’s id and the time your pass ends in signed form, and expires 48 hours after your payment. It lets the checkout in the same browser know that your pass is active, so the next document costs nothing; scripts on the page cannot read it. When you pay, the checkout also loads Stripe’s payment form on the page, and Stripe sets the cookies it needs to process the payment and to detect and prevent fraud, under Stripe’s own cookie policy.
What this meansOne cookie for the pass you bought, and the payment’s own. Without them the pass cannot follow you from one document to the next, and Stripe cannot take the payment safely.
1.2Preference cookies: none today. If we ever add one (for example to remember a display setting), it will be our own, carry no identifier, and be listed here before it ships.
What this meansSo the site remembers your choice between visits — and nothing about you.
1.3Analytics: none. We use no analytics or tracking service and store nothing on your device to measure you — no cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers. Our typefaces are fetched from Google Fonts (Privacy Policy, clause 2.3).
What this meansIf we ever start measuring anything, it will say so here first.
2 Your choice
2.1There is nothing to switch on or off. The one cookie we set exists only for the pass you bought, and the payment cookies only for the payment you asked for and to keep it safe from fraud. So there is no cookie banner and no consent to withdraw. If you delete this site’s data in your browser, the pass disappears from that browser; your order link still works.
What this meansA cookie-settings switch with nothing to switch would be theatre. So there isn’t one.
2.2We use no consent walls: the site can be read without accepting anything.
What this meansYou can read every policy and every page without a single cookie.
3 Browser controls
3.1You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block Stripe’s cookies while paying, the payment may not go through; if you block ours, the pass will not work in the checkout, but everything you have already bought stays available through your order link.
What this meansThe one honest warning: block everything and the buy button stops working.
